Colonel Edward T. Imparato passed away on December 21, 2000. He was born on January 6, 1917, and dedicated his life to service — first as a civilian pilot, then as a distinguished officer in the United States Army Air Forces and the United States Air Force.
Colonel Imparato served under General Douglas MacArthur during World War II and became one of the youngest Full Colonels promoted by MacArthur, achieving that rank at just 27 years of age. His leadership and expertise in airborne operations and troop carrier logistics were instrumental in supporting MacArthur's return to the Philippines.

He is remembered as a devoted patriot, a skilled aviator, a gifted commander, and a dedicated author whose legacy lives on through his service and his words.
